Isolated domain reputation: Keep the sending of every client, user, or brand separate

We’re introducing isolated domain reputation: each domain you send for now carries its own reputation status, so if one encounters an issue, your other clients keep sending normally while you sort out the one that needs attention. There’s no account-level pausing, just a notification to let you know which domain needs looking into.

Many senders, 1 account

Service providers, software platforms, and multi-brand businesses often need to manage multiple senders. The most efficient way to do this is with a single MailerSend account. This lets you monitor delivery and maintain sending for each without switching between accounts.

Each domain you send for has its own audience, configuration, and sending patterns, so it’s not unusual for one to go through an occasional rough patch. But a sudden rise in bounces on one client’s domain says nothing about your other clients’ sending.

That’s where isolated domain reputation steps in. When reputation is kept separate, one domain’s stumble doesn’t impact the others.

A reputation status for each domain

With domain reputation, each domain now has its own status: Healthy, Under review, Rebuilding, or Sending paused. The sending limits are the same ones you already know from account reputation, applied per domain:

  • Healthy domains send at normal speed

  • Domains under review or rebuilding send at 10 requests/minute

  • Paused domains stop sending until things are back on track

If one domain runs into an issue, only that domain is affected. Everything else is business as usual: your other clients and users can continue sending uninterrupted.

Plus, when a domain’s status changes, we’ll send you an email and fire a webhook. You’ll know straight away which domain needs attention, and you can bring in the right client or teammate to help fix the issue.

Domain reputation is available on plans that include multiple domains: Starter and Professional (including the 14-day trial).

What this means for your account

You’ve got more reliable sending for multiple domains with a slightly different look and a new experience when one domain hits an issue. A spike in bounces on one domain is now a contained task you can handle more easily, without an account-wide pause that affects every client or the need to hunt down the affected domain.

The Domains page with a view of domain reputation for each domain.

This gives you peace of mind that one client’s sending won’t be affected by another. It’s an easier way to manage multiple domains, so you have more room to grow; you can add new clients and users knowing each one is isolated from the rest.

How to optimize for the best multi-sender experience

Domain reputation is a significant improvement for the multi-sender experience. To fully benefit from MailerSend’s multi-domain offering:

  • Use domain-scoped tokens and SMTP credentials: Make every sender more secure; if one client’s token is compromised, the others won’t be

  • Create custom access permissions: Give clients and team members access only to what’s relevant to them

  • API white-labelling: Build custom dashboards for your clients and team or build your own applications on top of MailerSend

  • DMARC reporting: Get enhanced visibility into every sending domain so you can detect issues before they impact delivery or reputation

Domain reputation is available for you to check out now

Domain reputation is now live! Just head to Emails > Domains to see the new domain reputation view—each domain’s status appears alongside it with its delivery metrics.

You can also fetch a domain’s status via the API, so you can easily sync it with any monitoring dashboards to maximize visibility for your clients and team, and check the status via our MCP server. To learn more about managing domains, read our sending domains and domain reputation guides.

Let us know how it works for you. We’d love to hear your feedback.
