Behind the scenes at MailerSend, our expert deliverability team works hard to ensure your transactional emails reach your recipients. While they take care of the technical side of things, there are a few things you can be doing to improve and maintain your deliverability rate, including validating your email list. 

Until now, this would involve using an external tool to check your emails—not any longer. We’re excited to announce our new email verification feature, enabling you to validate your list straight from the app! You’ll find Email verification in the left-hand navigation menu.

Why verify your recipients’ emails?

Unlike marketing emails, the recipients of transactional emails usually want and expect to receive your messages. However, there are always cases of people signing up with fake/disposable emails, misspelled email addresses, spam traps, or users that simply go inactive with time. 

To avoid these problematic emails, it’s important to verify and clean your email list. Here’s why.

1. Helps to improve and maintain a strong sender reputation: Low engagement and high bounce rates can negatively impact your sender reputation. Cleaning your recipient list of bad email addresses helps to reduce this and in turn increase deliverability. 

2. Reduces sending costs: By cleaning out the recipients that are non-existent or inactive, you’ll lower the number of emails sent each month, potentially lowering your sending costs. 

3. Allows for more accurate activity and analytics: With an email list of valid recipients, you’ll get a more accurate representation of how those recipients engage with your messages in the activity and analytics of the app. You’ll make better-informed decisions about the content, design and strategy of your transactional emails.

4. Improves inbox placement: By reducing bounce rates and increasing deliverability, more of your emails will reach the inbox, resulting in maximum visibility and increased open rates.

Instantly verify your entire list

With MailerSend’s bulk email verification tool, you can upload your entire list of recipients as a CSV and get your results in minutes. You can then simply download your email validation results and add invalid email addresses to your suppressions list so that no future messages are sent to them.

That’s right! Check for multiple issues

The email validator is an advanced tool that doesn’t only check for emails that will bounce, but will also check for various other issues with your recipient list. It will identify emails with typos, syntax errors, disposable emails, catch-all emails and full inboxes. Your verification results will group the emails based on their status, so you can quickly and easily decide which emails to add to your suppressions list.

How to get email verification

The email verification tool is available for all Premium plans. With each upgrade, you’ll receive a number of free credits to get started in validating your emails. 1 credit is equal to 1 email address, and additional credits are available starting at a price of $10 for 1,000 credits. Credits are available for purchase independent of your plan, which allows you to purchase and use credits as and when you need them.
